Welcome to Patti Johnston Photography!

For as long as I can remember I have loved photography. Back to before high school, I was the one with the camera, always taking photos. Even today, not a day goes by that I am not shooting something. It could be a bird on my back patio or my doggie, Daisy or setting up a photo shoot with flowers. I also enjoy photojournalism and recently was 1 of 6 finalists in CNN's Annual iReport Awards in the category In Depth Storytelling Category (out of a field of 11,000 reports!). I truly enjoy capturing moments in time of people. These moments create an emotion. Usually joy, sometimes sorrow or sadness. If you feel something when looking at my photos then I have achieved my goal.

My style is sometimes posed shots to capture your best you….. a tilt of the head, placement of your hand, making sure your clothing is flowing just right…. I also capture unposed "lifestyle" type shots of you by yourself or with your loved ones. In both I am trying to capture that special look, a twinkle in your eye, that cute smirk….you get the idea! My style is a bit eclectic from bold, robust colors to soft, dreamy, romantic colors.
